Key Responsibilities:
- Join a group of experienced and cloud-certified professionals.
- Collaborate with an international team of support engineers responsible for platform operations, tools, and resources that ensure high availability, both on-premises and in cloud-based data platforms.
- Monitor shared processes with internal groups and vendors to ensure comprehensive maintenance and implement daily reporting.
- Facilitate communication across workstreams to guarantee satisfaction in troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Manage the reliability and availability of data while adhering to established benchmarks and standards.
- Work with Data and AI teams to support and innovate Data Platforms.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and participate in decision-making.
- Participate in resolving production issues and lead efforts toward effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services, including a strong understanding of resource provisioning, networking, and security in Azure.
- Deep experience with Azure Databricks administration (clusters, scaling, job scheduling, monitoring).
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Bicep, managing changes via code and infrastructure versioning.
- Competence with version control (Git) and implementing CI/CD pipelines for data workloads/infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Spark internals, including compute, resource allocation, partitioning, and memory to aid in optimizing infrastructure.
- Knowledge of cloud cost management (e.g., spot/preemptible VMs, auto-scaling, rightsizing).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Experience working with data engineering and analytics teams, including an understanding of pipeline flows, data dependencies, and common data bottlenecks.
Certifications (Good to Have):
- Databricks or Azure certifications are preferred.
