Senior Digital Forensic Examiner

A Senior Digital Forensic Examiner is responsible for the forensic preservation of digital media devices and cloud-based systems. They can independently perform and understand the actions required to process and extract artifacts from computer operating systems, process data from Android and iOS-based mobile devices, and manage time and cases independently while troubleshooting technical hurdles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and track electronic evidence
• Utilize leading forensic software to identify, collect, preserve, and analyze electronic data from laptops, desktops, cell phones, email, and cloud-based systems
• Coordinate with additional personnel to assist as needed throughout project lifespans
• Maintain detailed project-related notes and documentation
• Manage client relationships and collection projects from inception to completion, including project scoping and workflow conception
• Provide depositions/testimonies pertaining to managed projects and collections as needed
• Generate concise, forensically accurate, and unbiased findings reports
• Mentor and train junior practitioners

Requirements:

• Strong background with Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with standard computer operating systems, networks, and hardware
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to scope client projects and create time and cost estimates
• Strong analytical and investigative skills
• Working knowledge of evidentiary laws and regulations

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• 4-year BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or Management of Information Systems
• A minimum of 4 years direct digital forensic experience
• Relevant industry certifications, education, and/or training
• Flexibility to meet the travel requirements of client service projects
• Motivated and eager to grow in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
