About the Role
The trading desk within Global Markets & Treasury focuses on taking proprietary positions in various asset classes, including FX, Commodities, Credit – Structured and Flow, Rates, and Non-Linear Trading, to achieve high returns that contribute to the Group’s P&L. This role is crucial in generating an annual income of AED 200 million by managing the Non-Linear FX and Rates flow business within approved limits. The trader in this position will also collaborate with the Structuring team to manufacture products, aiding Corporate and Institutional Sales as they expand the flow business from clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Take on market risk positions from internal desks (Sales) and provide hedging trade ideas for both our own account and external clients.
- Train junior members as appropriate.
- Engage in customer interactions as required.
- Provide efficient and competitive pricing.
- Achieve trading profit to meet the yearly Non-Linear budget target.
- Trade FX and Interest Rate Volatility to accomplish budgeted targets.
- Support Sales and Structuring by providing market commentary, pricing, and product manufacturing based on market conditions.
- Deliver written and verbal updates to desk members and provide daily market commentary during market meetings.
- Quote competitive and timely pricing for Sales and Structuring desks.
- Contribute to the implementation of Calypso (GM&T’s IT Platform) to maintain and price Interest FX Derivatives effectively.
- Participate in meetings, testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as necessary while taking a leading role in creating new FX-related derivatives.
- Manage other Non-Linear traders using appropriate man-management skills, focusing on achieving the team budget.
- Effectively manage the team and contribute to balance scorecards.
Education Requirements
- Post-graduate degree in banking, economics, finance, math, or related business disciplines.
Experience Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in Interest Rate trading with a proven track record of success.
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to price non-linear products and manage risk internally.
- Experience with system implementation for non-linear products.
- Technical and fundamental knowledge of trading G7 and Emerging Markets.
- Knowledge of Exotic/Structured Products.
- Proficient in Calypso and Numerix systems.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg and Reuters.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work under pressure within approved trading limits.
