What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design civil and transport infrastructure drainage systems.
- Conduct detailed analysis and review hydrological and hydraulic models.
- Provide technical design expertise for drainage and stormwater quality systems, including piped networks and major transverse drainage structures while embracing a leading digital work environment.
- Design hydraulic systems in complex environments to meet site-specific requirements.
- Apply knowledge of biological and physical processes in stormwater management.
- Propose innovative ideas, technology, and value engineering solutions.
- Supervise and mentor intermediate and junior engineers.
- Undertake hydrologic modeling, calculations, drawings, report writing, design review, and supervision.
- Lead projects, build strong client relationships, and obtain design approvals while coordinating with CAD/BIM/3-D modeling teams.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Hydrology, or Water Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in water engineering, including stormwater drainage design in civil and transport projects, stormwater management, and planning.
- Preferred UAE/GCC experience, with familiarity in Dubai Municipality design standards.
- Strong knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics principles.
- Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling/design software for surface drainage, piped networks, cross drainage, and flood analysis; knowledge of CAD, SWMM, HEC RAS, and HEC-HMS.
- Compulsory experience with Infoworks ICM, 1D/2D.
- Excellent command of GIS and CAD tools such as ArcMap, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microstation.
- Capability to perform advanced mathematical calculations for design validation.
- Knowledge of Water Sensitive Design and Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification or well-progressed towards qualification.
- Ability to independently design complex storm/groundwater networks and hydraulic modeling for pump stations.
- Proficiency in producing high-quality plan and profile drawings.
- Ability to prepare drainage design reports independently.
- Proficiency in utilizing Bentley StormCAD, SewerGEMS, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, and InfoWorks ICM for storm sewer design, analysis, and production of hydraulic models and drawings.
- Experience in InfoWorks 2D modeling, InfoWorks Model Build Report (MBR) preparation, and ArcGIS is a plus.
