Key Accountabilities:
- Implement layer 1/PHY radio front-end algorithms for FPGA or Microcontroller.
- Implement layer 2 algorithms for microcontroller operation.
- Develop and maintain bare-metal firmware for microcontrollers based on Cortex-M architectures, including families like STM32, NXP LPC, and Microchip PIC.
- Develop firmware with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, mbed, or ThreadX on microcontrollers.
- Implement Linux drivers and kernel modules for custom hardware components.
- Integrate communication protocols like I2C, UART, SPI, and CAN in Linux and microcontroller environments.
- Develop Linux client/server applications using UDP, TCP, or IP protocols.
- Utilize programming languages for MCUs, specifically C/C++ and assembly.
- Build Linux images using Yocto and FreeRTOS.
- Design and generate Board Support Packages (BSP) for the utilized System on Chip (SoC).
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to established coding standards.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers while fostering a collaborative environment and sharing knowledge.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in embedded technologies and best practices.
- Utilize version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Demonstrate effective code-writing discipline including commenting and tracking bugs.
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with engineers and stakeholders.
- Effectively work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Knowledge/Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, communication, electronic, or software engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in embedded software engineering with proficiency in C and C++.
- Strong knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 radio front-end algorithm implementation.
- Deep understanding of ARM64 and Cortex-M architectures.
- Proficient in Linux driver and kernel development.
- Experienced in bare-metal firmware development for microcontrollers.
- Familiar with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, mbed, or ThreadX.
- Knowledge of I2C, UART, SPI, and CAN protocols and their implementation.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
