About POWERTECH
POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.

Position Summary:
The Turbofan Performance Engineer is responsible for performing thermodynamic cycle analysis to support the turbofan engine architecture design, optimization and validation throughout the complete development lifecycle, from concept to certification and in service-support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain engine thermodynamic cycle models
  • Define engine deck and engine operating envelopes and performance targets
  • Interface with aircraft performance team
  • Optimize SFC, thrust, thermal efficiency, engine operability, mission performance
  • Advise on architecture design
  • Support system integration and ensure overall engine performance consistency
  • Support test activities and instrumentation plan; participate to engine test analysis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Aerospace engineering, Turbomachinery, Fluid Dynamics (turbulence, multiphase flows, boundary layer behavior)
  • Experience in turbofan architecture, compressor and turbine matching, engine operability, SFC analysis
  • Fluent in English
  • 8+ years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Gas turbomachinery thermodynamics, engine cycle analysis, aircraft propulsion integration, performance matching
  • Proficient in one of software/programming NPSS, GasTurb, Simulink, Python, AxStream
  • Awareness on the state-of-the-art technologies including AI-assisted design methods
  • Good communication and presentation skills to interact with team members, clients, and vendors.
  • Ability to solve problems, prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary
