The Advanced Concepts division is focused on the design and deployment of innovative technologies in high-tech autonomous systems. This includes the development of medium endurance, high altitude fixed-wing unmanned aerial systems, precision loitering munitions, cost-effective cruise missiles, and a variety of guided artillery munitions. We are seeking a highly experienced professional in aerospace engineering to lead the design and optimization of missiles, ensuring their performance and functionality meet rigorous standards.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Lead the design and optimization of missiles, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces.
  • Incorporate aerodynamic considerations seamlessly into the design process, ensuring balanced functionality and performance of aerospace structures.
  • Apply deep understanding of applied aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and jet propulsion to guide and enhance design projects.
  • Utilize control theory knowledge to ensure stability and optimize missile performance.
  • Possess deep fundamental knowledge of high-speed aerodynamics, including transonic and supersonic regimes.
  • Understand the process of missile conceptual design, including formulation of requirements, generation of concepts, trade-off studies, sensitivity analysis, and multi-disciplinary optimization (MDO).
  • Apply strong mathematical skills across various aspects of aerospace engineering, from design computations to interpretation of simulation results.
  • Communicate complex technical information effectively, both in writing and orally, ensuring clarity and comprehension among both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Establish infrastructure, tools, and laboratories to support design processes.
  • Provide technical contributions to support the chief engineer.
  • Mentor junior engineers, including Engineer I and Engineer II.

Qualification / Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) industry, including at least 3 years in a senior or team lead role.
  • Preferably knowledgeable in guided weapon systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, MATLAB, and any CAD package, with Solidworks being preferred.
  • Proficient in low-fidelity tools (such as DATCOM) and advanced simulations (such as ANSYS Fluent) for missile applications.
  • Working knowledge of jet propulsion, including selection, integration, and optimization of turbines and solid rocket motors.
  • Advanced knowledge of missile conceptual design.
  • Familiarity with missile control theory.
