Responsibilities
- Maintain infrastructure software (GPFS, PowerHA, AIX 7.1 and later, VIOS, PowerVM).
- Responsible for installing and managing IBM AIX systems.
- Execute AIX and Linux Patch management.
- Support day-to-day L3 calls on AIX/Servers/VIO Servers issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Take problem resolution ownership and facilitate technical bridge during operational disruptions or service outages.
- Monitor events and customer support calls in the call tracking system, return calls from customers, and enter new incidents or requests into ServiceNow.
- Experience in File Systems, Processes, Performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Manage VIO and Hardware Management Console.
- Experience in system recovery using mksysb image and Disaster Recovery
- Experience in PowerVM for virtualization services including Shared Ethernet Adapter (SEA), NPIV configuration, and virtual SCSI services for multiple VIO servers/client partitions.
- Strong Redhat Linux System administration experience.
- Strong understanding of P9 pSeries hardware architectures.
- Maintain and upgrade UNIX system software on all UNIX based midrange systems to ensure operating system integrity and high system availability.
- Strong understanding and awareness of AIX and Redhat Linux system security.
- Establish LPAR cloning standard operating procedures and create LPAR profiles.
- Install, configure, and establish plans to maintain software on the LPARs required by the data center.
- Develop and present mitigation strategy recommendations to address security findings.
- Identify problem resolution and coordinate the implementation of solutions with management and other impacted technical support teams.
- Design, configure, and maintain LPARs required to support various non-production and production components.
- Extensive knowledge in supporting SAN environments.
- Configure and administer Storage Area Networks (SAN), understanding SAN architecture and configuration best practices, LUN masking, fiber specs, switch specifications, SAN security/Port Zoning, core-to-end systems, and n-tier setups.
- Experience on IBM storage, SVC, HP 3PAR, and SAN Switch administration and configuration.
- Expertise on IBM Storage technologies including SVC, FS7200, FS900, and V7000.
- Expertise on SAN Products such as Brocade Switches.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with various storage replication software, SAN switches, and storage management software/hardware.
- Experience in Azure cloud environments to deploy, manage, and monitor virtual machines (VMs), networks, and storage solutions within Azure.
- Ensure optimal allocation of resources to meet performance requirements and cost efficiency.
- Regularly apply patches and updates to Azure services and infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain security policies and procedures including network security, access controls, and data protection.
- Hands-on experience in deploying, configuring, and managing Trend Micro security solutions, such as:
- Trend Micro Apex One
- Deep Security
- Workload Security (DS Agent)
- Conduct policy configuration, agent deployment, and update management.
- Perform log analysis, threat detection, and remediation of malware or vulnerabilities.
Qualifications
- Required Knowledge and experience:
- Experience: 12 Years in Unix System Administration.
- Educational Qualification:
- A Bachelor’s in Engineering in Computer Science or Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and/or professional experience.
Primarily Skills and Experiences
- Manage and administrate all Linux and Unix infrastructure services.
- Maintain an updated patch management process and assure all infrastructure components are patched.
- Monitor system logs and activity on all Linux and Unix environments.
- Perform regular firmware assessments and upgrades.
- Coordinate with third-party suppliers/vendors for the replacement of defective hardware on clients and servers as necessary.
- Update software and hardware inventory and documents.
- Provide scripts to automate regular tasks and jobs.
Certifications
- University Degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- Azure Administrator Associate (Good to have)
- ITIL Foundation V3 or V4
- Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect (Good to have)
- IBM Certified Specialist pSeries Administration and Support for AIX
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes (Good to have)
- Microsoft Azure Architect Expert (Good to have)
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in administrating RHEL and Ubuntu.
- Hands-on experience with RedHat Satellite and Ansible.
- Hands-on experience in administrating AIX.
- Hands-on experience with clustering technologies including RedHat cluster, RedHat Satellite, and IBM powerHA.
- Strong background in Blade HW technologies and IBM Power Systems.
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and its operations.
- Hands-on experience with SAN technologies and Storage/SAN administration.
- Azure Cloud administration proficiency.
- Ability to work varying hours and shifts.
