We're seeking a vital member for our dynamic Mobile Development team. As a Senior Android Engineer, you will be crucial in researching, designing, testing, deploying & maintaining high-performance Android applications that enable seamless and scalable transactions within the MENA region.
Drawing on your proficiency in Android development, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining best-in-class applications aimed at giving the best user experience to all of our mobile users to create unique experiences only Tamara can provide.
With a proven track record of connecting Android applications to back-end services, you will collaborate with a diverse ecosystem of talented engineers, designers, analysts, product experts, and other cross-functional team members to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and ultimately revolutionize the way millions of users shop, pay, and bank.

Your responsibilities
- Research, design, test, deploy & maintain high performance Android applications which are used by customers & partners
- Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Kotlin code
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
- Debugging and root cause analysis
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
- Analysing and maintaining product features
Your Expertise
- 5+ years of relevant experience as a Android Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
- Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch.”
- Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as QR code scanning, fingerprint authentication...
- Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for everyday tasks
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization
- Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git (we’re using Gitlab)
- Familiarity with continuous integration (we’re using Gitlab CI/CD pipeline)
- Proactive, goal-oriented, reliable, and self-structured
