About the Role:
The Senior Consulting Engineer will lead end-to-end CFD consulting engagements for aerospace and other industry clients, encompassing technical scoping, proposal development, project execution, technical review, customer communication, and final delivery. The engineer will also deliver training, mentor engineers, and rapidly develop capability in new application areas as required. A key focus of the role is aircraft icing simulation in support of customer certification programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical scoping and proposal preparation, including the technical approach, assumptions, deliverables, effort and cost estimates, schedule, risks, dependencies, and exclusions.
- Own end-to-end consulting project execution: define the work plan and milestones, manage technical risks, coordinate customer reviews, maintain project documentation, and ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Provide expert consultation and execute CFD simulations for aerospace applications, including external/internal aerodynamics, compressible flow, turbulence, heat transfer, conjugate heat transfer, multiphase modeling, and FSI-related workflows.
- Lead and execute aircraft icing simulations using Ansys FENSAP-ICE, covering droplet impingement, ice accretion, aerodynamic performance degradation with ice shapes, and thermal anti-/de-icing analysis.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports and present findings, limitations, and engineering recommendations to customer technical and management teams.
- Conduct comprehensive online and onsite training for customers, ensuring alignment with their project needs.
- Develop customized training materials and workshops using the Ansys Fluids Portfolio.
- Apply advanced problem-solving skills and rapidly learn new concepts and technologies.
- Travel up to 20% as required.
Minimum Education / Expertise Needed:
- MS/PhD in Aerospace Engineering, with a strong aerospace/aerodynamics background.
- 5+ years of hands-on CFD experience, including significant aerospace project experience; customer-facing consulting or engineering services experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong foundation in aerodynamics, compressible flow, turbulence, heat transfer, and multiphase models.
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace fundamentals including external aerodynamics, flight mechanics, stability analysis, and aeroelasticity.
- Hands-on experience with ANSYS Fluent, including turbulence and multiphase modeling.
- Hands-on experience with Ansys FENSAP-ICE (or equivalent icing tools such as LEWICE) and a working understanding of icing physics is strongly preferred; candidates without direct FENSAP-ICE experience must demonstrate the ability to rapidly learn and independently apply new simulation technologies to customer projects.
- Additional expertise in radiation, DPM, species transport, and MDM models is a plus.
- Experience with ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS SpaceClaim, Fluent Meshing, and high-performance computing (HPC) for large-scale simulations.
- Proficiency in scripting with Python and User Defined Functions (UDFs) in Fluent.
- Exposure to Ansys System Coupling/Mechanical for FSI workflows is an added advantage.
