Senior Engineer, Contracts

This senior engineering role focuses on ensuring efficient and cost-effective contract development activities to meet all corporate contracting requirements. The successful candidate will manage complex, high-value contracts, ensuring the creation of accurate agreements for various projects and services. Responsibilities include coordinating with users on contractual matters, evaluating claims for contract variations, and advising on negotiation strategies.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop a comprehensive contracting activities plan for each tender based on company needs.
• Review strategies for contracting, tendering procedures, and methods of reimbursement, and create initial shortlists of bidders.
• Compile accurate tender documents addressing technical, commercial, and legal aspects, obtaining necessary approvals.
• Collaborate with Finance and Legal teams for standard contracts and any required deviations for tenders.
• Prepare all necessary documentation for bid openings and participate while ensuring fairness and confidentiality.
• Facilitate the accurate and timely preparation of negotiation paperwork and participate in meetings as needed.
• Conduct techno-commercial evaluations of bids and create justified shortlists for management approval.
• Draft Letters of Award (LOA) and register contracts in SAP for contract number allocation.
• Assess claims based on contractual terms and provide recommendations for resolution.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in any Engineering Discipline.

Experience and Skills:

• A minimum of 8 years in contracts development and administration within the oil and gas sector.
• Technical expertise in contract construction, review, and the tendering process.
• Strong understanding of relevant legal guidelines and regulations.
• Proficient in conflict avoidance and resolution related to contracts.

Certifications:

• FRICS certification (Full Membership of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) is preferred.

Work Conditions:

• Minimal physical effort required.
• Work is primarily in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions during site visits.
