The position involves supporting the detailed design of Electrical & ELV systems while ensuring compliance with company design guidelines, industry standards, and local codes. You will collaborate with engineering and project teams to review designs, technical submissions, and scope while managing project budgets and schedules. This role is crucial for delivering projects on time and mentoring junior engineers in industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of detailed design of Electrical & ELV systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to complete and review designs and submissions.
- Manage a team of engineers to ensure project delivery and meet tight deadlines.
- Mentor junior engineers on design standards and company guidelines.
- Prepare concept designs and technical analyses of design options.
- Perform detailed engineering and design calculations.
- Utilize software tools like ETAP/AMTECH, Dialux, etc.
- Develop and review project specifications for compliance with standards and regulations.
- Assess design risk factors and reliability issues.
- Provide expertise in Data Centre Electrical & ELV systems.
- Optimize electrical system designs for performance and energy efficiency.
- Conduct surveys, gap analyses, and develop technical reports on existing data centers.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders under the design manager's supervision.
- Adapt to multiple roles and responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical & ELV systems design, specifically for Data Centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Design experience in Electrical, small power systems, CCTV, Fire Alarm, Access Control, EPMS, Building Automation, etc.
- Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD/Revit software.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Willingness to travel for site inspections and to participate in testing and commissioning activities.
