Key Accountabilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems for Data Center projects, including:
- HVAC systems
- Cooling systems
- Piping systems
- Public health systems
- BMS
- Fire suppression systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of mechanical systems in Data Center designs.
- Manage a team of engineers to deliver projects within tight deadlines.
- Mentor junior engineers on design standards and industry best practices, including company-specific design guidelines.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to optimize the performance and energy efficiency of mechanical systems.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical systems in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess mechanical system installations and provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of mechanical equipment and components for Data Center projects.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in Data Center mechanical design.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional engineering license (PE) is preferred.
- 5+ years of solid experience in mechanical design and engineering, specifically in Data Center projects or similar mission-critical facilities.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a complete ability to develop and use CFD modeling tools for the early design phase.
