We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer – Network Operations to support the daily operations, optimization, and reliability of the network infrastructure for our global high-performance computing (HPC) environments. This role is crucial for ensuring the availability, security, and performance of switches, firewalls, and network fabrics that support large-scale AI and ML workloads across geographically distributed data centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and optimize HPC network infrastructure, including Layer 2/3 switches, routers, firewalls, and RDMA-based fabrics (e.g., InfiniBand, RoCE).
- Troubleshoot complex network issues that impact HPC workloads and services, minimizing downtime.
- Configure, maintain, and upgrade firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Provide network support and integration for HPC platforms, including Slurm and Kubernetes.
- Manage IP address management, VLAN configuration, and network segmentation in compliance with operational standards.
- Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code solutions using Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Collaborate with compute, storage, and security teams for scalable network solutions.
- Maintain network documentation and participate in on-call rotations for incident management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within network operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years in enterprise network operations or infrastructure support.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Mellanox, or NVIDIA Networking.
- Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN/VXLAN, routing protocols).
- Experience with firewalls and VPNs (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Familiarity with high-performance networking in HPC, AI/ML, or cloud environments.
- Experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform) and Linux-based OS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good communication abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GPU-based AI infrastructure or HPC clusters.
- Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
- Relevant certifications (CCNP, JNCIP) are a plus.
