Responsibilities
What You’ll Own
- Operate and improve LAN, WLAN, WAN, Internet, VPN, and hybrid-cloud connectivity, ensuring high availability, performance, segmentation, and secure traffic flows.
- Configure and troubleshoot Aruba switches, wireless controllers/gateways, and access points; maintain reliable coverage and configuration baselines.
- Administer Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms (including IOS XE/NX-OS), managing VLANs, VRFs, OSPF/BGP, QoS, high availability, secure management, and software upgrades.
- Implement and maintain Palo Alto firewall policies, zones, NAT, VPN, and high availability, applying approved security controls and change procedures.
- Operate Zscaler ZIA/ZPA services for secure Internet access and private applications, managing traffic forwarding, PAC files, inspection, exceptions, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Configure and troubleshoot Azure VNets, including subnets, peering, VPN Gateway, and security configurations.
- Monitor service health, security events, anomalous traffic, and capacity, while improving telemetry, SIEM integration, and alert quality.
- Lead complex network and security incident investigations, coordinating with Cybersecurity and other related teams for effective recovery and root-cause analysis.
- Conduct vulnerability remediation, configuration hardening, and patch management with thorough testing and validation protocols.
- Deliver network and security upgrades, contributing to the design and validation of resilience and capacity.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, inventories, configuration backups, and audit evidence.
- Manage vendor and carrier technical escalations, track support requirements, and provide technical input for procurement processes.
- Share troubleshooting methods and mentor junior engineers while tracking metrics on availability and incident resolution.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in enterprise networking or network security, with a focus on complex production operations and incident resolution.
- Strong hands-on experience with Aruba switching and wireless technologies, Cisco Catalyst/Nexus systems, and Palo Alto firewalls, including proficiency in routing protocols, segmentation, and secure management.
- Practical knowledge of Zscaler ZIA/ZPA services, SASE, and Zero Trust access controls.
- Experience with Azure networking, including VNets, peering, and VPN configurations.
- Strong TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, and network troubleshooting fundamentals, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues across various environments.
- Knowledge of monitoring and SIEM integration, secure configurations, and incident management.
- Excellent communication skills, sound operational judgment, and disciplined documentation practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Cisco ISE/802.1X, Catalyst Center, or Catalyst SD-WAN deployment.
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP, Aruba, Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, or Azure networking are a plus.
