Key Responsibilities:
- Audit system performance and identify opportunities for process performance monitoring and improvements to meet applicable standards.
- Support development and updating of technical specification documents and conduct economic feasibility studies to evaluate financial and technical viability of applications.
- Develop system functional specifications, design and as-built documentation, user manuals, and training materials for minor modifications in existing applications.
- Coordinate with site maintenance personnel for vendor support, modifications, and upgrades.
- Provide technical and engineering expertise to plants in Real-time Process Information Management and Laboratory Information Management Systems.
- Deliver operational, technical, and engineering expertise in Optimization, Alarm Management, Control Loop Performance Monitoring, and higher-level MES applications.
- Develop scope of work and tender documents; participate in technical bid evaluations to meet system requirements as per company standards and specifications.
- Coordinate and participate in the implementation of approved projects, including installation, commissioning, and future upgrades to ensure timely completion within budget.
Supervision:
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enhance their proficiency and support section objectives.
Budgets:
- Provide input for the preparation of functional budgets and assist in implementing approved budgets and work plans to deliver section objectives.
- Investigate and highlight significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
- Implement approved section/department policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures to support the execution of the section’s/department work programs in line with company and international standards.
Performance Management:
- Contribute to achieving approved performance objectives for the function in line with the company performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to enhance the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify internal process improvements against best practices to foster greater efficiency and define intelligent solutions for functional challenges.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability:
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines consistent with international standards and the company Code of Practices.
Reports:
- Provide inputs to prepare section management information systems (MIS) and progress reports for company management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in design, installation, commissioning, operations, continuing maintenance, testing, and CS validation related to automation systems within a large industrial organization.
