Key Accountabilities
Projects Engineering

  • Provide professional expertise in the selection of contractors, focusing on prequalification and bid evaluation, as well as site management, including site arrangements and overall logistics.
  • Contribute to the development of a detailed statement of requirements (SOR) and strategy for implementing various project phases such as FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning.
  • Assist in developing tender documents for selecting the Engineering Consultant, Project Management Consultant (PMC), and Contractors.
  • Review contractors' subcontracting strategies and pre-qualification of subcontractors, ensuring that their strategies, plans, specifications, methods, and procedures for construction align with the scope of work.
  • Review and coordinate contractors' pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, plans, and activities to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Coordinate and participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning meetings with Operations and Maintenance Departments, reviewing contractor documentation and consolidating comments from concerned parties.
  • Provide necessary recommendations for Purchase Requisitions for materials and equipment for free issue to EPC/Construction Contractors.
  • Contribute to the efficient selection of equipment, materials, systems, work methods, and tests for effective project management.
  • Supervise activities of assigned specialists during engineering and construction phases to ensure timely execution of projects within approved budget and scope.
  • Monitor progress of work by licensors, engineering, and EPC contractors; identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions for smooth and timely project completion.
  • Review construction strategy, plans, specifications, methods, and procedures for value addition and cost-effectiveness across assigned projects.
  • Coordinate value engineering and constructability reviews alongside other project workshops.
  • Review work methods, procedures, and installations in line with safety measures.
  • Review site safety audit plans and ensure timely and effective implementation.
  • Review contractors’ invoices and monitor contract costs in collaboration with the Cost Service team.
  • Monitor and manage project completion punch lists to ensure all construction and commissioning activities are closed out for Provisional Acceptance Certificate issuance.
  • Conduct risk analysis, Project Health, Safety, and Environment reviews (PHSER), and ATR reviews in compliance with the company's procedures.
  • Attend project-related meetings with Contractors, Subcontractors, Vendors, etc., as necessary.
  • Evaluate Contractors’ claims and provide recommendations, negotiating and coordinating final settlements with the Contracts Department.
  • Manage the issuance of the Provisional Acceptance Certificate.
  • Coordinate the issuance of contract close-out reports and transfer all project drawings, catalogues, manuals, etc., to the company's records.
  • Track warranties and defects liability periods on performed work, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) to EPC Contractors, and coordinate corrective actions during warranty and defects liability periods.
  • Maintain and update relevant project information, including trends that may cause variations to the contract.

Supervision

  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient in their roles and achieve section objectives.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 8 years of experience in engineering multi-disciplinary functions for asset and facility design, with exposure to Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) packages.
  • Knowledge of gas extraction and processing plant operations, production engineering principles, and project management.
  • Strong grasp of engineering concepts and experience with FEED.
  • Familiarity with applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) principles and their application in the Oil & Gas industry.
