Key Accountabilities
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and modification activities of rotating equipment in the plant to ensure safe and efficient services.
- Review preventive maintenance plans/schedules and prepare task lists/maintenance programs for rotating equipment in the plant, while supervising the execution of these programs.
- Provide guidance and advice on actions to be taken regarding chronic problems and review requirements for major repairs and spare replacements to ensure compliance with internationally recognized engineering standards.
- Participate in Risk Assessment exercises and prepare recommendations and guidelines for addressing mitigations and controls.
- Ensure availability of spares, coordinate and follow up on new material orders, create proposals for stocking spares (PFS) for new equipment, initiate item change requests, control spare parts, and delete unwanted inventories from stock.
- Prepare new maintenance procedures and method statements for new activities, scheduling long-term activities in line with plant shutdown schedules.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with other departments and sections to optimize manpower utilization and manage major and minor shutdown activities and expenditures.
- Provide technical support for the development, implementation, and commissioning of new projects in mechanical design and specifications to optimize costs while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
- Prepare new plant change requests (PCR), evaluating the proposed PCR for implementation and developing plans and schedules for their execution.
- Participate in HAZOP reviews and SIL validation meetings.
- Conduct studies on frequent failures of major rotating equipment and provide recommendations.
- Participate in RCA for incidents related to rotating equipment, offering findings and recommendations.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent Professional Qualification.
- 8 years of experience in the engineering and maintenance of rotating equipment within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas sector.
- Extensive experience in the design, engineering, construction, maintenance, and operation of rotating equipment in the oil and gas industry.
- Familiarity with international design codes and standards, with the ability to prepare design, procurement, construction, (pre) commissioning, and handover specification packages for rotating equipment.
- Knowledge of the capabilities and shortcomings of major rotating equipment manufacturers, along with a proven track record in conducting technical and commercial negotiations with them.
- Knowledge of HSE procedures and practices.
- Strong skills in planning and organizing, scheduling and coordinating, checking, examining, and recording.
