Senior Engineer - Satellite Operations

About the Role
The company is seeking a Satellite Operations Engineer to join our satellite operations team. The candidate will act as the main interface between the end user and the company, translating mission requirements into satellite tasking plans, and will operate the satellite on a day-to-day basis. This is an entry-level role suited to a motivated engineer looking to build hands-on experience in Earth Observation mission planning and operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main interface between the end user and the company, translating mission requirements into satellite tasking plans.
• Plan and schedule satellite acquisitions, ensuring optimal use of the company's satellite in line with end-user priorities.
• Provide periodic reporting to the end user on acquisition status and any deviations from the agreed plan.
• Support the operations of the company's satellite on a day-to-day basis, including commanding, monitoring, and managing routine and contingency operations.
• Monitor satellite health and performance, detect anomalies and support the resolution of operational issues.
• Maintain operations logs and operational documentation.
• Participate in shift coverage and on-call rotation once trained and certified.

Must Have Skills

• Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Telecommunications Engineering or a related field.
• Solid understanding of satellite systems fundamentals including spacecraft subsystems, telemetry and telecommand concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and structured working methods.
• Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to interface with end users and produce clear status updates.
• Decision-making ability and composure in time-critical situations.
• Willingness to work shifts and participate in on-call rotation.

Good to Have Skills

• Familiarity with satellite pass analysis.
• Understanding of Earth Observation concepts including tasking workflows, data acquisition and payload constraints.
• Familiarity with mission operations concepts.
• Arabic and English proficiency.
