Responsibilities:
- Capturing System Requirements: Gather needs and use cases from end users, business operations, and other stakeholders. Transform these into system requirements and CONOPS documents.
- Defining System Architecture: Conduct trade-off analysis, allocate system functions to segments and subsystems, and define system-level interface requirement documents.
- Developing Segment Requirements and Procurement Specifications: Support the creation of specifications for space and ground segment procurement processes.
- Supporting Proposals Review and Assessment: Collaborate with other sections in the Engineering Division to review and assess proposals in response to RFPs issued by the company.
- System Performance Analysis: Analyze end-to-end system performance metrics (link throughput, capacity, availability, latency) for services and user terminals in GEO and LEO satcom systems.
- Modeling Satcom End-to-End Systems: Utilize the company Link Budget and system performance analysis tools.
- System Testing and Acceptance: Contribute to system integration and validation strategy; develop test plans covering entire system verification, ensuring compliance with stakeholder needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest improvements in practices considering best practices, international standards, and changes in the business environment, while engaging with vendors and internal teams to enhance the company solutions.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Engineering, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering
- 5-8+ years of technical experience in the satellite communications industry
- Experience in capturing and defining system/sub-system requirements, system architecture, and integration/verification testing
- INCOSE certification (ASEP, CSEP) is a plus
- In-depth understanding of satellite communications for both space and ground/service segments
- Experience in GEO or LEO Satcom end-to-end system performance analysis and link budget analysis
- Familiarity with software development for system engineering and simulation tools; knowledge of Python is a plus.
