Responsibilities
- Design and develop stormwater management systems, including detention basins, retention ponds, and drainage networks, utilizing industry best practices and local regulations.
- Conduct detailed hydraulic and hydrological analyses to assess system performance and optimize design solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, engineering drawings, and construction documents using CAD software and hydraulic modeling tools.
- Oversee project implementation from conception through completion, ensuring quality assurance and adherence to design standards.
- Perform site inspections and assessments to evaluate existing stormwater infrastructure and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, environmental specialists, and contractors to integrate stormwater solutions into broader project objectives.
- Ensure all designs comply with UAE regulations, local building codes, and environmental standards.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry innovations in stormwater management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in stormwater engineering, drainage design, or related civil engineering disciplines.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent) and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-HMS, SWMM, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of stormwater design standards, best management practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in hydraulic and hydrological analysis and modeling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments.
- Preferred: Professional engineering licensure or certification (PE, CEng, or equivalent).
- Preferred: Experience with projects in the UAE or Middle Eastern region.
- Preferred: Familiarity with GIS software and environmental impact assessment procedures.
- Preferred: Experience with sustainable and green infrastructure solutions.
- Preferred: Knowledge of climate-resilient stormwater design practices.
