Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to select and procure lab equipment and necessary supplies.
- Support the engineering team in prototyping and testing developed systems.
- Efficiently manage, update, and maintain an inventory of commonly used parts, components, and consumables for ongoing projects and daily electrical prototyping.
- Provide technical expertise to support research and development activities.
- Coordinate with external vendors for equipment acquisition and service requirements.
- Facilitate training for engineers and technicians in the proper usage of lab equipment and adherence to established procedures.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive lab policies and procedures to prioritize safety and enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of prototypes to ensure operational and performance standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Operate electrical engineering and laboratory equipment.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team involved in test equipment design and development.
- Utilize experience to design innovative and efficient test systems, incorporating the latest technologies.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring project parameters are adhered to.
- Identify opportunities for improving test equipment performance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Knowledge/Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in a development-engineering environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or Software Engineering.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects from concept to completion.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding and mentoring engineering teams.
- Experience in Test Equipment Design and Development, ensuring compliance with EMI/EMC standards for military and defense applications.
- Proficient in LabVIEW, TestStand, C, C++ coding, HIL, and Python.
- Knowledge of sensors and instrumentation.
