In this position, you’ll take on key responsibilities that include:
- Designing, developing and maintaining enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and reports that provide clear, actionable business insights.
- Building scalable semantic models, datasets and dataflows within Power BI.
- Developing advanced DAX measures and applying Power Query transformations to meet complex reporting requirements.
- Creating and supporting ETL and ELT processes and data integration workflows.
- Writing and optimising SQL queries, views and stored procedures.
- Developing business solutions using Power Apps and automating workflows through Power Automate.
- Collaborating with data engineers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective analytics solutions.
- Maintaining high standards of data governance, security, integrity and reporting accuracy.
- Troubleshooting reporting issues and optimising the performance of dashboards, reports and datasets.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced and solutions-focused business intelligence professional who is passionate about using data to solve problems and improve business decision-making. You will combine strong technical expertise with the communication and stakeholder management skills needed to translate business requirements into reliable, user-friendly analytics solutions.
You should have:
- At least seven years of experience in business intelligence and analytics, including a minimum of five years of hands-on experience with Power BI.
- Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query, data modelling and SQL.
- Practical experience using Power Apps and Power Automate to develop solutions and streamline processes.
- Sound knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to troubleshoot technical and reporting challenges.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks or Azure Data Lake would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Python or R for analytics and automation would be beneficial.
- An understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning applications within modern business intelligence environments would be an advantage.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications in Power BI, Fabric, Azure Data or Power Platform would be highly regarded.
