Senior Field Service Engineer

About the Role
Field Service Engineering work is focused on providing technical advice to customers, including the commissioning, installing, and testing of products and equipment. The role involves identifying and correcting complex problems associated with start-up, as well as researching, evaluating, and recommending new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Actively participate in site activities and visit customer sites for installation testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of the company's HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB, and other equipment as required or assigned. Participate in the PGHV project and collaborate with the project team when assigned.
• Coordinate with the tools management department, take care of HV tools, and arrange/ properly use test equipment and tools to execute site activities for HV product installation, testing, commissioning, protection, and control.
• Complete GIS Bay or GIS compartment assembly work, perform minor fabrications if required, troubleshoot and rectify defects of HV products workable at the customer site, and advise on action plans for repairs that need to be carried out in the company factory or workshop. Support PGHV service work activities on-site and at customer workplaces.
• Learn to operate test equipment used for HV product testing, commissioning, and maintenance work. Understand procedures and methods for using special tools for HV product service jobs, and share knowledge with fellow engineers and technicians.
• Work with the Project Management team on various projects as required, ensuring full compliance with PM requirements, while maintaining discipline advised by the PM or customer site regulations.
• Lead contractors or sub-contractors during job execution, coordinating with customers and back-office support for any resource requirements to complete the job. Obtain PAC or timesheet signatures from the customer after task completion for invoicing purposes.
• Prepare and provide site reports, activity plans, resource requirements, and share these with the PM, line manager, or supervisor. Prepare methods of statement as required and share them with the customer when requested or when they are contractually binding.
• Follow company rules and regulations, display good behavior at the office and site, and report any safety or integrity incidents to the line manager, supervisor, or project manager. Implement company values in daily activities.
• Submit weekly and monthly timesheets and expense reports per company guidelines in a timely manner, and prepare travel authorization prior to site travels or deployments.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines, demonstrating the company's core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for your actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 6-10 years of experience in high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, and HV switchgear protection and control.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic is required.
