As a Senior Field Service Engineer at Hitachi Energy in Abu Dhabi, you will lead aftermarket service and maintenance for High Voltage Gas Insulated Switchgears (132kV, 220kV+), supporting utility contractors across the region. Responsibilities:
- Participate in the planning and execution of installation and commissioning activities on-site.
- Execute design modifications for commissioning and provide annotations for project documentation.
- Carry out Installation & Commissioning of HV PD, extension, and maintenance services independently.
- Provide on-site or remote technical support for GIS installation and maintenance services.
- Take part in pre-commissioning meetings, commissioning planning activities, and documentation preparation.
- Support tendering by providing commissioning plans and time/cost estimation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Recommend immediate and future service requirements to customers and provide feedback to the Service Sales team.
- Create service reports, time sheets, and delivery notes endorsed by customers.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through understanding customer requirements and addressing issues.
- Adhere to quality assurance requirements and seek continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in an engineering field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 6-8 years in High Voltage Products or Equipment (GIS 132KV, 220KV and above).
- Proven competence in testing & commissioning of switchgears and related components in substations.
- Experience in substation projects from tendering to site commissioning.
- Proficient in written and oral communication.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in spoken and written English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
