Responsibilities
- Participation in the planning and execution of installation and commissioning activities on-site, executing design modifications for commissioning and offering annotations for as-built project documentation.
- Carrying out Installation & Commissioning, including HV PD, extension, and maintenance services independently.
- Providing on-site or remote technical support for installation and commissioning of GIS and routine maintenance services, identifying technical problems and analyzing them through remote or on-site activity in different Service categories.
- Participating in pre-commissioning meetings, commissioning planning activities, and documentation preparation (e.g., FAT documentation, Site ITPs & ITRs, Method Statements).
- Supporting tendering by providing commissioning plans and time/cost estimation.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Making recommendations to customers for immediate and future service requirements and providing feedback to the Service Sales team.
- Acting as the representative of the OEM during interactions with customers, preparing tools, equipment, and parts needed for a service job, and understanding the scope of the job to be performed.
- Creating service reports, time sheets, and delivery notes endorsed by customers.
Your Background
- A bachelor’s degree or Diploma in an engineering field is required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with 6 to 8 years in High Voltage Products or Equipment (GIS 132KV, 220KV and above) installation, testing, commissioning, repair, and maintenance.
- Competence in testing & commissioning of switchgears and other key components/apparatus in substations.
- Overall experience in substation projects, from tendering, engineering, or site commissioning.
- Computer literate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player with the ability to network and build relationships both internally and externally.
- Focused on meeting customer service and quality standards.
- Certification for commissioning and HV PD is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required; Arabic is an added advantage.
