We are seeking an experienced Senior FinOps Engineer to lead and optimize our cloud financial operations. This position is essential for ensuring cost efficiency, transparency, and accountability in our cloud environments. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of cloud platforms, financial analysis, and operational strategies to support sustainable growth and drive value from our cloud investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and monitor cloud usage and expenses across multiple platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Implement strategies to optimize cloud costs and enhance efficiency.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for cloud cost visibility and tracking.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, and product teams to create cost-optimization strategies.
- Establish and enforce cloud cost management policies and best practices.
- Advocate for the adoption of FinOps principles across the organization.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through resource rightsizing and discounts (e.g., Reserved Instances, Spot Instances).
- Automate cost management processes and work with finance teams to forecast cloud spending.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions on FinOps best practices.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including pricing models and cost structures.
- Experience with cloud cost management tools.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, or similar.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills for cloud expenditures.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical teams.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud cost management, FinOps, or related roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification.
- Experience in multi-cloud cost management and hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and cloud security and compliance requirements.
