Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Mexico)

As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you will own the technical success of complex and strategic product deployments across banking and enterprise clients. This role serves as a senior technical counterpart to client infrastructure, security, architecture, data, and engineering teams, focusing on designing deployment and integration architectures that enable the company products to operate effectively within highly controlled enterprise environments.

You will be responsible for implementing solutions, making technical decisions, identifying risks early, driving complex integrations, resolving critical production issues, and distilling lessons from client deployments into reusable improvements across the company products and delivery practices. This role represents the intersection of product engineering, infrastructure, systems architecture, delivery, and customer solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own complex end-to-end technical implementations of the company products across banking and enterprise environments, including on-premise, private cloud, restricted, and air-gapped systems.
• Lead technical architecture discussions with client infrastructure, networking, security, architecture, data, and engineering teams.
• Design deployment architectures covering:
  • network topology
  • security boundaries
  • authentication and authorization
  • application infrastructure
  • data flows
  • API exposure
  • integration patterns
  • observability
  • high availability
  • disaster recovery
  • operational ownership
• Make technical decisions and trade-offs necessary for adapting the company products to complex client environments while maintaining product supportability and security.
• Design and implement complex integrations between the company products and enterprise systems, including:
  • core banking platforms
  • internal APIs
  • data warehouses and data lakes
  • Kafka and messaging platforms
  • Oracle and SQL Server
  • identity and access management systems
  • legacy enterprise applications
• Build reusable adapters, connectors, APIs, automation, deployment tooling, and integration components for client requirements not met by existing product capabilities.
• Lead deployment and orchestration of the company applications using Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and related infrastructure tooling.
• Define strategies for upgrades, migrations, rollbacks, patching, configuration management, and production rollouts for client environments.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of complex production issues involving networking, firewalls, VPNs, proxies, load balancers, DNS, certificates, authentication, encryption, Kubernetes, application infrastructure, and client integrations.
• Act as a senior technical escalation point for production incidents and high-priority client issues.
• Produce and review high-quality technical artifacts including:
  • solution architecture documents
  • API documentation
  • integration specifications
  • deployment runbooks
  • operational handover documents
  • network and data-flow diagrams
  • upgrade and rollback procedures
  • troubleshooting documentation
• Lead technical discovery during pre-implementation and delivery phases, identifying feasibility concerns, infrastructure dependencies, integration complexity, security requirements, and implementation risks.
• Collaborate closely with Product Engineering and DevOps teams to improve product architecture, deployment models, observability, configuration, integration capabilities, and operational supportability.
• Identify recurring patterns across clients and drive their conversion into reusable product capabilities, deployment tooling, reference architectures, or engineering standards.
• Mentor FDE I and FDE II engineers, providing technical guidance during design, integrations, deployments, and incident resolution.
• Review technical designs and deployment plans generated by other engineers.
• Help establish standards and best practices for deployment architecture, integration development, documentation, production readiness, and client handover.
• Participate in and help coordinate on-call or escalation coverage for critical client production environments according to agreed SLAs.

Requirements

• 4–7+ years of experience in forward deployed engineering, systems integration, solutions engineering, DevOps, backend engineering, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise technical implementation.
• Strong hands-on software engineering experience with Python and API development using FastAPI, Django, Flask, or similar frameworks.
• Strong hands-on experience deploying and operating production applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux.
• Significant experience with on-premise, private cloud, air-gapped, or highly restricted enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, including firewalls, VPNs, proxies, routing, load balancers, DNS, TLS/SSL, certificates, and network troubleshooting.
• Strong experience integrating with enterprise systems such as REST/SOAP APIs, Oracle, SQL Server, Kafka, message queues, identity providers, ERPs, CRMs, or internal banking platforms.
• Experience designing deployment and integration architectures rather than only implementing predefined architectures.
• Strong understanding of authentication and authorization patterns such as OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, LDAP/Active Directory, API keys, JWTs, and service-to-service authentication.
• Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and production environments across application, infrastructure, network, database, and integration layers.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical decisions to client engineering, infrastructure, architecture, security, and management stakeholders.
• Ability to create and review high-quality architecture documentation, API specifications, integration designs, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
• Strong technical judgment and ability to make pragmatic decisions in ambiguous client environments.
• Experience mentoring engineers and reviewing technical designs.
• Comfortable leading client workshops, architecture sessions, production deployments, and technical escalations.
• Willingness to visit client sites and take ownership during critical deployment or production activities.

Experience working with banks, regulated industries, high-availability systems, GPU infrastructure, AI/ML platforms, or enterprise security processes is a strong plus.
