Senior Frontend Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to own the frontend of the company's web applications: our internal CRM, used daily by our investor-coverage, product and compliance teams; our client-facing investor portal. The role is frontend-led, with hands-on backend contribution in PHP and Laravel when required, and extends to the integrations and internal tooling that connect these systems. This is a senior individual-contributor role in a small, high-trust technology team, with a direct line to leadership and real ownership of what you build.
Our web applications use modern React-based frontend architectures. Individual products use different tools, including React, TypeScript, Vite, Next.js, and Material UI. We value engineers who can work confidently across these environments, build scalable component systems, and make sound technical choices for each product.

What You Will Do

• Own the frontend: Take end-to-end ownership of the architecture, delivery and continuous improvement of our internal CRM and investor portal, and lead the frontend build of any future applications.
• Ship product: Partner with stakeholders across coverage, product, compliance and leadership to translate complex investment and relationship workflows into clear, responsive and usable experiences, from discovery through release.
• Engineer in React and TypeScript: Build and maintain scalable, well-typed React applications with reusable components and disciplined state and data-fetching patterns using Redux, TanStack Query, and React Router.
• Evolve the design system: Develop and maintain a consistent Material UI component system, with particular depth in MUI X Data Grid Pro for high-volume, data-dense tables, charting with Recharts, rich-text editing with Tiptap, document and PDF viewing, and accessible, responsive behaviour across devices.
• Keep it fast and reliable: Improve page and bundle performance, frontend observability through Sentry and production reliability, including real-time features delivered over Pusher; diagnose incidents, resolve defects and support safe releases.
• Uphold engineering quality: Write well-tested, well-documented, maintainable code and hold a high bar in code review, security and release practice.
• Work AI-assisted: Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor as a day-to-day productivity multiplier, with the judgment to review, test and own the output, and help shape how the team applies them.
• Contribute across the stack: Work in the PHP/Laravel API, database-backed features and integrations, including Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, real-time services and third-party data providers, when needed to deliver end-to-end outcomes.
• Build securely: Apply secure-by-design practices to everything you ship: OWASP-aligned frontend and API security, robust authentication and authorisation, and careful handling of investor and client data in line with DIFC data-protection obligations; support security due-diligence questionnaires and audits as needed.
• Build on AWS: Work day-to-day with our AWS-hosted platform, including RDS, S3, ElastiCache, OpenSearch and GuardDuty, and with the CI/CD pipelines that deploy to it, applying practices appropriate to sensitive client and investor data.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience including substantial ownership of production frontend applications.
• React and TypeScript: Expert-level React and TypeScript, with a strong command of modern JavaScript, HTML, CSS and a modern build toolchain such as Vite.
• Component architecture: Proven ability to design and maintain reusable component systems and scalable frontend architecture. Strong Material UI experience is required; hands-on experience with MUI X Data Grid or Date Pickers is a significant advantage.
• State and data: Deep experience with application-state and server-state patterns, including Redux and TanStack Query or comparable libraries, client-side routing, and form handling with validation.
• Data-rich applications: Experience building data-dense business applications such as CRMs, portals or financial tooling, with complex tables, filtering, charts and document handling.
• Craft: A demonstrable commitment to responsive design, accessibility, usability, and frontend performance.
• Quality engineering: Practical experience with automated testing (for example Vitest or Jest, React Testing Library and Playwright or Cypress), code review, Git-based version control, and CI/CD.
• Backend capability: Working knowledge of PHP and Laravel, including RESTful APIs, relational data modelling on MySQL and integration patterns; able to contribute hands-on when required.
• AWS: Hands-on experience building and operating applications on AWS, with working knowledge of services such as RDS, S3, ElastiCache, OpenSearch and GuardDuty, and comfort with CI/CD pipelines deploying to AWS.
• Security mindset: Sound understanding of web application security, including the OWASP Top 10, secure authentication and authorisation flows, single sign-on and secure handling of sensitive data.
• Senior judgment: A track record of owning significant product delivery and making sound architectural decisions independently, with the pragmatism to balance speed and quality.
• Communication: Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders and to work closely with senior business users.
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline is required.
• Location: Ability to work full-time from the Dubai office.

Nice to Have

• Regulated environments: Experience in financial services, asset management or another regulated, data-sensitive environment.
• Real-time and rich content: Experience with WebSocket or Pusher-style real-time features, rich-text editors such as Tiptap or ProseMirror, and in-browser document or PDF rendering.

Working Conditions
This is a permanent, full-time, office-based position at our Downtown Dubai headquarters, reporting to the Head of Technology. Critical releases, incidents, and major delivery periods may occasionally require support outside normal office hours.
