Risk and Compliance (R&C) is the company's Second Line of Defence, providing review and challenge to promote effective risk management across the Group. Risk, International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) oversees financial and non-financial risks across Retail Credit, Wealth, Global Private Banking, Asset Management, and Insurance in multiple markets.

This Senior Governance Manager role sits within the R&C COO function and reports to the Head of Performance and Delivery - IWPB. You’ll provide robust operational management of governance committees and reporting, including regulatory engagement ensuring papers and briefings meet the right standards and actions are followed through.

Success means reliable, well-run forums with clear decisions, timely action closure, and consistent reporting that supports effective oversight. You’ll also help improve ways of working across governance and reporting so stakeholders can focus on core outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Overseeing end-to-end operational management of IWPB Risk governance forums, including agendas, pack coordination, minutes, and meeting outputs.
  • Establishing a regular cadence to track governance actions and ensure timely progress and closure.
  • Managing and consolidating inputs for governance reporting requirements across IWPB Risk in partnership with Group R&C teams.
  • Shaping governance papers to meet expected standards by partnering with stakeholders across first line, second line, and third line.
  • Preparing IWPB Risk briefings for formal governance committees and regulatory forums.
  • Coordinating IWPB contributions to CRCO paper content and key escalation matters.
  • Supporting the Head of Performance and Delivery with delegated representation at meetings and forums where required.
  • Strengthening ways of working by standardising processes, removing blockers, and aligning stakeholders to a single version of truth.

What We're Looking For

  • A full-time graduation degree of at least three years is essential for obtaining a UAE visa and work permit. For degrees obtained outside the UAE, valid attestations and equivalency are also mandatory.
  • Proven experience managing governance and executive reporting activities within the company or a comparable financial services environment is required.
  • Demonstrable understanding of risk management, operational risk concepts, and practical risk management techniques.
  • Strong experience in the management of complex stakeholder groups spanning global, regional, and Line of Business operating models.
  • Strong capability producing high-quality governance packs, minutes, briefings, and senior-level reporting with clear narrative and actions is required.
  • Established programme and project management experience is required, to organise delivery across shifting priorities and organisational complexity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across levels with the ability to influence outcomes and negotiate where required.
  • The capacity to partner closely across the first line, second line, and third line to align priorities, identify themes, and surface emerging risks.
  • Use of structured problem management and organisational skills to improve processes and maintain consistent governance outcomes.

Setting the Standard in Governance

This role sits at the centre of how IWPB Risk stays connected, informed, and well governed. You’ll help ensure the right topics are discussed at the right forums with crisp decisions and clear ownership. If you’re looking for a role with real visibility across financial and non-financial risk and the opportunity to improve how governance operates day-to-day, we’d like to hear from you. Join the company and help strengthen the disciplines that support effective risk management across IWPB Risk.

We support our staff to adopt flexible and alternative ways of working where possible, including working from home and different hours subject to approvals. The company is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected, and opinions count. We take pride in providing a workplace that fosters continuous professional development, flexible working, and opportunities to grow within an inclusive and diverse environment.
