As a Senior Highway Design Engineer, you will engage in large-scale projects that demand engineering expertise and a collaborative spirit. What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop and oversee engineering deliverables that align with customer quality requirements, including defining problems, scoping work, preparing budgets and schedules, planning efforts, providing technical direction, and reporting work status.
- Produce typical deliverables such as detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, technical reports, proposal evaluations, and comprehensive analyses.
- Support and lead engineering activities as needed and serve as the lead engineer for specific disciplines on smaller to intermediate projects.
- Provide guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and junior Engineers, including supervision and contributing to performance reviews.
- Conduct complex highway engineering tasks, including developing options for intricate road designs and significant grade-separated crossings.
- Extract engineering data from CAD drawings and ensure the accuracy of $3\text{D}$ models using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads.
- Execute engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, estimations, surveys, and designs.
- Develop drawings, specifications, data sheets, requisitions, and other procurement/construction materials while coordinating with various engineering disciplines and departments.
- Review supplier drawing submittals and conduct technical bid analyses.
- Sign and seal professional engineering documents when required, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and ordinances.
- Act as an advisor to senior management on engineering-related matters as necessary.
- Undertake other relevant responsibilities as assigned.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from a recognized University.
- A minimum of 8+ years of experience in highway design with strong knowledge of Highway Design Software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bentley MicroStation.
- Ability to utilize computer technology for data access, record maintenance, report generation, and any project-specific engineering and construction software.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with effective interpersonal abilities for project team collaboration.
- Capacity to motivate, guide, and train junior engineers.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience with Bentley OpenRoads.
- Familiarity with Dubai/UAE infrastructure and regulations is preferred.
- Experience related to Dubai RTA projects or similar is desirable.
