Senior Information Security Operations Specialist

About the Opportunity
As a Senior Information Security Operations Specialist at HungerStation, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our security platforms, particularly focusing on Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR). Your responsibilities will include the development and administration of security operations controls, processes, and policies, as well as monitoring security events and reacting to incidents through defined actions.

Key Responsibilities

• SIEM, SOAR, and EDR Management:

  • Maintain and enhance SIEM and EDR platforms.
  • Develop and administer SOC controls to ensure their effectiveness within the HungerStation environment.
  • Create SIEM/EDR performance monitoring metrics (KPI’s) and report on performance.
  • Conduct security event analysis, identify false positives, and escalate events when necessary.

• Threat Hunting:

  • Continuously monitor the latest threats and implement rapid responses to mitigate potential cyber attack damage.
  • Detect, isolate, and neutralize advanced threats that evade automated security solutions.

• Incident Response Management:

  • Lead incident detection, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
  • Define and implement capabilities to detect and address malicious activities.
  • Develop security automation to streamline incident response operations.

• Governance and Resilience:

  • Follow relevant policies and procedures to maintain controlled work processes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and promote adherence to policies within the organization.

• Daily Operations:

  • Ensure continuity in daily operations and prepare timely reports meeting established objectives.
  • Address the needs of both internal and external customers courteously and promptly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in security, preferably within a Cyber Security firm.
• Hands-on experience with log management tools and security event correlation.
• Familiarity with various cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with SOAR tools, including playbook development and integration.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, and Malware Analysis.
• Familiarity with network security monitoring and experience responding to attack vectors such as malware, data exfiltration, DDoS, and phishing.
• Relevant certifications like CEH, GCIH, and GCIA are a plus.
