Senior Infrastructure Engineer

The company is currently seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for our Bahrain operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with UNIX/Linux Systems Administration, including root-cause troubleshooting, OS upgrades, lifecycle patching, and managing significant hardware/OS infrastructure challenges.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years in UNIX/Linux Systems Administration with a successful track record.
• Hypervisor Mastery: Proficient in maintaining guest workloads and virtual layers across LDOMs, VMware, KVM, and Hyper-V.
• Hardware, Network & OS Expertise: Strong experience with multi-vendor compute hardware architectures and operating systems (Solaris SPARC & enterprise Linux), as well as core network infrastructure knowledge.
• Data Protection Competency: Experience with enterprise backup systems like Veeam and OpenText Data Protector.

Key Responsibilities

• OS Upgradation & Lifecycle Patching: Plan and execute zero-downtime OS upgrades and patching for Oracle Solaris and Linux distributions.
• Firmware Upgrade & Hardware Remediation: Manage firmware upgrades and troubleshoot complex physical hardware faults across various platforms.
• Platform Operations & Troubleshooting: Optimize bare-metal systems and diagnose OS-level issues.
• Virtualization Architecture: Deploy and manage compute, memory, and storage across virtualized infrastructures.
• KVM Implementation & Tuning: Deploy and maintain KVM hypervisors while optimizing application performance.
• Network Integration & Routing: Manage advanced network configurations and ensure stability in production environments.
• Enterprise Backup & Recovery Operations: Oversee data retention policies and disaster recovery strategies using Veeam and OpenText Data Protector.
