Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth operation of applications and functional area computers to ensure all computer systems are consistently available and in compliance with applicable standards.
- Coordinate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization’s applications and workstations.
- Direct diagnostic investigations of program errors and recommend solutions or methodologies for resolution.
- Manage communication with all areas of the enterprise impacting the scope, budget, risk, and resources of managed work efforts.
- Correct program errors using methods such as modifying programs or altering the sequence of program steps.
- Analyze, review, and rewrite programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt programs to new requirements.
- Prepare detailed workflow charts to illustrate the sequence of steps that programs must follow; describe input, output, and logical operations involved.
- Manage the administration, maintenance, and upgrades of the organization’s applications.
- Analyze and recommend the use of new applications and services to senior management.
- Conduct and validate the physical inventory of IT equipment and software.
- Provide instructions and training to staff when necessary.
- Assist with the enforcement of all IT directives within the company.
- Ensure all IT property is maintained in a serviceable condition, routinely inventoried, and safeguarded.
- Supervise, monitor, and train IT Analysts on various IT tasks.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
- Support other members of the IT section in fulfilling their roles.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, housekeeping, and environmental directives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent years of experience in the same field.
- A minimum of five to six years of experience in an IT Applications role is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory position is required.
- Certifications in Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), and Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) are an advantage.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally, is required.
- Have, or be able to obtain, a valid UAE driver’s license.
