The Senior IT Internal Auditor will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing internal controls and business risks through IT audit work. You will assist the Internal Audit team in achieving IT-related goals as part of the annual global internal audit plan, working with operations in Bermuda, Switzerland, the U.K., and the U.S. This role will also support the delivery of the annual global IT Sarbanes-Oxley assurance program as well as broader company initiatives on special projects. A strong knowledge of IT operations related to audits and experience in data analytics is preferred.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support the testing of IT general computing controls, coordinating with the Internal Audit team for compliance with Section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley, and recommend actions to address any identified control deficiencies.
- Develop and maintain the IT Risk Assessment at the Group Level, focusing on key and emerging IT risks needing audit attention.
- Conduct risk-based IT audits and reviews of systems in accordance with professional standards, ensuring internal controls are effectively designed and operated.
- Prepare and present audit results to senior executives regarding IT-specific audits or reviews.
- Examples include performing project assurance and system enhancements reviews, IT security audits (network, operating system, and data center), data governance and privacy audits.
- Monitor the implementation of management action plans and assist in preparing Audit Committee materials.
- Collaborate with management to enhance internal controls and improve business processes.
- Develop tools for data analysis to boost audit efficiency and support data analysis initiatives within the Internal Audit team.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- An undergraduate and/or post-graduate degree in a relevant quantitative discipline is required; a degree in IT or Finance is advantageous.
- CISA or CIA credentials are required, with CISA being preferred. CISM or other IT designations are advantageous.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of IT audit-related experience is necessary, preferably in a property and casualty insurer, reinsurer, financial institution, or equivalent public accounting firm.
- Excellent understanding of the (re)insurance or financial industry.
- Knowledge of various technology domains, including software development, Windows, database management, and networking.
- Familiarity with information security standards and best practices, along with applicable laws and regulations.
- Experience with internal auditing, controls, risk management, and Sarbanes-Oxley testing, preferably in the (re)insurance sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experienced in writing risk-based audit plans and reports.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently on complex matters.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture (AWS and Azure) and associated operational and security control frameworks is beneficial.
