As a Senior Java Back End Engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team collaborating closely with the Product Owner, Designers, and engineers to co-develop digital products. Your contributions will span the full technology stack, from database and DevOps infrastructure that supports continuous deployment, over native apps, to front-end development.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Agile engineering practices and various software and web development technologies to develop creative and efficient solutions that enhance customer and employee experience.
- Collaborate with team members to craft clear user stories, design tests for prototypes and products, and continuously deliver product enhancements.
- Liaise with other teams to negotiate timelines, deliverables, and dependencies.
- Identify and socialize product and delivery risks with stakeholders.
- Drive and model best practice engineering processes and Agile behaviors within the team.
- Communicate with business stakeholders to set and manage expectations about delivery methods and timelines.
- Own and promote best practices in automation, including continuous integration and deployment.
Typical Skills & Background:
- At least 8 years of software development experience, preferably in Agile teams.
- Full-stack engineering experience with a passion for mentoring colleagues.
- Extensive experience in Java 7/8, Java EE, the Spring framework (including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Messaging, JPA), and other Java open-source frameworks.
- Proficient in developing Cloud Native Microservices, Event Driven Design, and integration tools.
- Excellent knowledge of ElasticSearch, Redis, MongoDB, Apache Kafka.
- Infrastructure knowledge including RESTful APIs, OAuth, LDAP, and Search Technologies.
- Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong experience with Git and CI-CD (Jenkins or similar).
- Knowledgeable in SQL and common database technologies (Oracle, MsSQL, MySQL).
- Familiar with concepts of Functional Programming and best practices in application security and scalability.
- Working knowledge in designing distributed applications, DevOps, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks, such as JUnit.
Language Requirements: English proficiency is expected.
