We are seeking a Senior Jira Software Engineer to manage the Atlassian stack at Canonical, encompassing administration, configuration, automation, and integration responsibilities. The role resides in the Commercial Systems team, responsible for integrating business systems to ensure timely and accurate data flows, as well as automating business processes across the company. Leveraging Python and Go combined with open-source tools, you will help enhance the efficiency of our operations and enable data-driven decision-making.
Location: Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote, with occasional international travel (twice a year for company events, up to two weeks long)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Atlassian Cloud ecosystem at Canonical
- Design, document, and implement processes and automation in Jira
- Create integrations between Jira and the data warehouse
- Develop analytical dashboards for data-driven decisions
- Produce learning resources that scale
- Collaborate with global engineering, operations, and support teams
- Take ownership of critical escalations and ensure timely resolution
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
- Experience as an Atlassian Jira administrator
- Understanding of common Jira usage patterns across various departments
- Professional experience as a software developer in Python
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
- Ability to work remotely and collaborate effectively with diverse team members
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Knowledge of process architecture
- Experience with cross-project automation
