As a Senior Software Engineer, you will primarily focus on Juju, which enables model-driven operations and complex software management across diverse environments like public cloud, private cloud, Kubernetes, and bare-metal. Our internal and external teams rely on Juju for successful product and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design, delivery, and support of features in a highly concurrent, distributed system that automates cloud operations.
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
- Debug issues and engage with upstream communities.
- Coach and develop team members, fostering a first-class engineering team.
- Work from home with the opportunity to travel for internal and external events for 2 to 4 weeks per year.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven track record of delivering professional software using Go.
- Hands-on experience with highly concurrent distributed systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, especially in online settings.
- A solid academic background from high school and preferably university.
- Familiarity with agile software development methodologies.
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
Additional Skills (Not Required):
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, LXD, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of programming languages (C, C++, Rust).
- A solid networking background.
- Familiarity with Linux and open-source software.
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Knowledge of cloud computing.
- Passion for software quality and testing.
