About the role
The Senior Learning & Advisory Specialist will contribute to the delivery and continued development of knowledge management, business advisory, and government advisory work across the MENA region. This role will involve delivering consulting and advisory services and facilitating both internal and external knowledge-sharing sessions.
The role covers the entire Middle East and North Africa region. You will work closely with Subject Matter Experts to obtain, provide and validate information, particularly regarding the practical implementation of immigration, labour, and other relevant regulations. You will also collaborate with other internal teams, external stakeholders, and, where appropriate, government authorities to ensure that the information and advice provided by the firm are accurate, practical, and timely.
In addition to knowledge management responsibilities, you will draft thought-leadership and other content, contribute to business and government advisory projects, support business development and marketing initiatives, and represent the team at selected conferences, meetings, and other external engagements. The role will also include administrative responsibilities associated with the effective operation of the team.

What your day will look like

  • Draft, edit, update, and publish content on immigration, mobility, and other areas of the regional regulatory framework and practice.
  • Research applicable regulatory frameworks and monitor legislative, policy, and procedural developments across the MENA region.
  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to obtain, provide and validate information, particularly regarding the practical implementation of regulatory requirements and government processes.
  • Conduct regular quality-control reviews of content, products, and processes to maintain accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct strategic analysis of regulatory frameworks across the MENA region, including preparing international benchmarking studies, current-state assessments, topic-specific reports, policy papers, and white papers.
  • Contribute to business advisory projects, including compliance reviews and audits, policy drafting and review, multijurisdictional assessments, workforce mobility projects, and client training.
  • Contribute to government advisory projects, including legislative and policy analysis, international benchmarking, stakeholder engagement, procedural assessments, and the preparation of recommendations and supporting reports.
  • Work with digital tools and proprietary systems to update, review, manage, and store information efficiently in support of the firm and its clients.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of client and internal presentations, training programs, and knowledge-sharing sessions, both virtually and in person.
  • Draft thought-leadership materials, client communications, articles, blogs, presentations, and other content, as required.
  • Support business development activities, including identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, and responding to requests for information or tender submissions.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives and represent the team at selected conferences, client meetings, government meetings, and other external engagements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams across different workstreams, ensuring dependencies, responsibilities, and deadlines are clearly understood and managed.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and minutes, document agreed actions, and contribute to the development and maintenance of project plans and implementation roadmaps.
  • Support the successful delivery of projects by coordinating activities, monitoring progress, identifying potential issues, and helping ensure that agreed deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain accurate time records and up-to-date project, matter, and activity tracking.
  • Undertake administrative responsibilities required for the effective operation of the team.
  • Carry out other responsibilities consistent with the role and the evolving needs of the MENA Learning & Advisory team and the Knowledge Group.

The team
The MENA Learning & Advisory Hub is a specialized, regionally based team operating as part of the broader Knowledge Group. The team works closely with the firm’s practices and Subject Matter Experts across the MENA region, as well as with colleagues from the Knowledge Group, on shared initiatives, content development, and cross-regional projects. At the same time, it has the flexibility to respond directly to regional priorities and provide tailored support to internal teams, clients, and government stakeholders.
The team’s work is organized around three principal areas:

  • Knowledge Management and Awareness: Monitoring regulatory and procedural developments, preparing client notifications and thought-leadership content, and maintaining knowledge resources, data tools, and other products that help the firm and its clients remain informed and compliant.
  • Business Advisory: Providing tailored advice on immigration compliance and mobility strategy, including immigration audits and health checks, policy drafting and review, customized training, multijurisdictional analysis, corporate restructuring support, and crisis-related guidance.
  • Government Advisory: Supporting public-sector stakeholders through legislative and policy analysis, international benchmarking, current-state and procedural assessments, stakeholder engagement, policy development, and strategic advice on immigration, labour mobility, and workforce nationalization.
    The team combines regional knowledge, practical experience, and strategic analysis to translate complex regulatory developments into clear, actionable information and advice.

What we are looking for
Essential criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in law, public policy, international relations, political science, or another relevant discipline.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in legal or regulatory research, content development, knowledge management, consulting, or advisory work.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Working proficiency in Arabic is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and analyze legislation, policy, and government procedures and translate findings into practical, actionable intelligence.
  • Experience drafting professional reports, client communications, presentations, or thought-leadership content.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a disciplined approach to drafting, editing, and quality control.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to urgent requests.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Subject Matter Experts, senior stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams across different jurisdictions.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint, and the ability to work confidently with proprietary knowledge and information-management systems.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Confidence in preparing and delivering presentations, training, or knowledge-sharing sessions, both virtually and in person.

Preferred skills

  • Previous experience in immigration, labour, employment, public policy, or a related regulatory field.
  • Experience contributing to consulting, business advisory, or government advisory projects.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, or supporting the development of junior team members.
  • Experience with business development, proposal drafting, tender responses, or client relationship support.
  • Experience working with data, dashboards, regulatory trackers, or other knowledge-management tools.
