Currently, Presight is seeking a visionary and results-driven Senior Manager – Backend Engineering to lead the strategic design and development of backend systems. This high-impact leadership role requires a deep understanding of backend architectures, technical strategies, and people management. The successful candidate will oversee multiple backend teams, ensuring scalability, performance, and resilience of platforms while shaping the technical roadmap and driving engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop high-performing backend engineering teams, fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Set clear objectives and performance metrics aligned with business strategy.
- Own backend engineering strategy and execution, building scalable, secure, and highly available systems.
- Drive best practices in backend development, system design, and DevOps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business needs.
- Manage project timelines and resource planning, advocating for agile methodologies and data-driven decision-making.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and encourage experimentation, integrating innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3–5 years in backend engineering leadership roles.
- Proven experience in building and scaling backend systems in high-performance environments.
- Strong knowledge of modern backend architectures, microservices, and databases (SQL & NoSQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD processes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with data privacy and security frameworks is a plus.
