Position

The Senior Manager, Data Privacy is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing EDGE’s global data privacy strategy. Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, this role ensures compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations, manages data privacy risks, and promotes a culture of data protection and privacy across the organization. The role serves as the principal authority on privacy matters, guiding senior stakeholders on best practices and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Define and execute a group-wide data privacy framework aligned with business goals and legal requirements.
    • Serve as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) under applicable laws (e.g., UAE PDPL, GDPR).
    • Lead privacy impact assessments (PIAs), data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and third-party risk reviews.
  • Compliance & Governance:

    • Monitor compliance with global and regional privacy laws, including the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and GDPR.
    • Develop and maintain EDGE’s data privacy policies, procedures, and training programs.
    • Advise internal business units on privacy by design and default.
  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities on privacy matters.
    • Collaborate with Legal, Cybersecurity, IT, HR, and other departments on cross-functional privacy initiatives.
    • Conduct privacy audits and risk assessments, reporting findings to executive leadership.
  • Incident Response & Risk Mitigation:

    • Lead the data breach response process alongside cybersecurity teams.
    • Implement controls to mitigate privacy risks and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, or a related field (Master’s or JD preferred).
  • Recognized privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) required.
  • 10+ years of experience in data privacy or protection, including 5+ years in a leadership or DPO role within a multinational or high-security organization.
  • Deep knowledge of data protection laws (UAE PDPL, GDPR) and industry frameworks (ISO 27701, NIST Privacy Framework).
  • Strong experience working with regulators and managing compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex organizational environments.
