About the Job
The Senior Manager - Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining the company's database systems using various tools like Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. This role involves ensuring that the company databases are secure and accessible in the required format and at the necessary times. Key responsibilities include:
- Building high-availability database systems tailored to the specialized roles of end users.
- Designing and implementing databases based on user information needs and views.
- Defining user access and enabling data distribution in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Utilizing high-speed transaction recovery techniques and ensuring data backup.
- Minimizing database downtime and managing parameters to provide fast query responses.
- Offering proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
- Determining, enforcing, and documenting database policies, procedures, and standards.
- Regularly performing tests and evaluations to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
- Monitoring database performance and implementing changes, including applying new patches and versions as necessary.

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- A tertiary-level qualification from an internationally recognized institution.
- 5 to 7 years of equivalent experience demonstrating required competencies.
- Experience as a specialist individual contributor or team lead with project management skills.
- Technical supervision skills with demonstrated expertise in complex technical activities.
- Experience working with senior staff and handling complex issues, larger clients, or projects.
