The company is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager - Design & Interface to support its growing team. This integrated team-client-facing role involves managing and assuring the end-to-end design and interface coordination process across multiple disciplines and packages (civil, stations, systems, MEP, rolling stock, etc.). The position emphasizes engineering governance, interface management, and safety assurance, ensuring that all designers, contractors, and systems integrators deliver coordinated, safe, and compliant designs that meet employer requirements, statutory obligations, and project objectives regarding scope, time, cost, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary PMC focal point for design coordination and interface management across the program.
- Represent the client in high-level design, coordination, and interface meetings with various stakeholders.
- Communicate and implement employer's technical standards and safety obligations.
- Provide independent advice and recommendations on engineering, safety, interface, and program matters.
- Lead the multi-discipline design process across various engineering disciplines.
- Review design submissions and technical reports to ensure compliance with project standards and regulations.
- Manage the project-wide interface management framework and oversee design-related non-conformances and queries.
- Monitor design and interface activities against the integrated master program and report on progress and risks.
- Lead and mentor a team of design managers and specialists, promoting a culture of quality and safety.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related discipline).
- Approximately 15 years’ experience in major infrastructure or complex multi-discipline projects, particularly in design management and interface coordination.
- Strong project management, planning, and coordination skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools; knowledge of requirements management systems and BIM platforms is a plus.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English (written and spoken); Arabic is ideal.
