As a Senior Manager, you will set operational objectives for your teams, delegating tasks to ensure the successful achievement of medium-term goals. This role is pivotal in translating strategic direction into tactical work and guiding engineering teams in resolving complex issues. You will be responsible for mentoring multiple teams and contributing to the department’s strategy and vision.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage medium-term objectives for multiple teams.
- Translate strategy into tactical plans, driving successful execution.
- Oversee multiple teams of managers and senior contributors, ensuring they meet operational goals.
- Address and anticipate complex issues affecting teams across the engineering function.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to the broader organizational strategy.
What You Will Bring:
- Experience as a technical manager, building and managing teams.
- Experience with open source software, Linux, containers, Kubernetes, or the company OpenShift.
- Understanding of software and hardware performance testing and evaluation.
- Ability to understand technical requirements and communicate clearly at a technical level.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to interact comfortably with a large, geographically distributed team.
- Passion for open source software.
- Ability to coordinate development and defect resolution efforts related to performance among peer managers from various teams.
- Experience with agile development tools like Jira and Confluence is a plus.
