In the role of Senior Manager – IT Procurement Category Management, you will lead the development and execution of category strategies across key IT spend areas. This position requires managing end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives, partnering with senior Technology and business stakeholders, and driving procurement across IT categories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of category strategies across key IT spend areas.
- Manage end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives, from understanding business requirements and market engagement through negotiation, contracting, and supplier mobilisation.
- Partner with senior Technology and business stakeholders to provide commercial advice and develop effective sourcing solutions.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations with strategic IT suppliers to deliver value, optimise costs, and manage commercial risk.
- Drive procurement across IT categories including software and SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, telecommunications, cybersecurity, managed services, and IT professional services.
- Identify savings and value opportunities through spend, demand, utilisation, and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, performance, governance, and associated risks.
- Lead and develop the IT procurement team, building capability across sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and stakeholder management.
About You:
The ideal candidate should possess the following experience and credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- 8–12+ years of experience in procurement/category management with strong IT exposure, including 3–5+ years in leadership roles.
- Strong experience in IT procurement, category management, strategic sourcing, and complex commercial negotiations.
- Sound understanding of major IT categories and commercial models, including software/SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and managed services.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, including spend analysis, total cost of ownership, and cost optimisation.
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence senior stakeholders, and communicate complex commercial recommendations effectively.
- Strong leadership skills with experience developing and managing teams.
- Experience working with e-sourcing platforms such as SAP Ariba or Coupa.
- Knowledge of the Middle East/UAE technology and supplier landscape.
- CIPS or ISM CPSM certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Relevant IT, cloud, cybersecurity, project management, or continuous improvement certifications would be advantageous.
