About the Role
In this senior-level position, you will be instrumental in the growth of the Middle East business based out of the Dubai International Financial Centre. As a Senior Market Development Manager focusing on the Middle East and Turkey, your primary responsibilities will involve developing relationships and identifying commercial opportunities within some of the world’s most dynamic insurance markets. You will work closely with the Head of Middle East, Turkey & Africa, alongside colleagues from the global network.

What You’ll Be Doing
This commercially focused role emphasizes relationships, market insight, and effective delivery. Your responsibilities include:
- Delivering the regional plan and contributing to wider APMEA strategic priorities.
- Identifying opportunities to increase the company’s reach and visibility across the Middle East and Turkey.
- Building trusted relationships with brokers, coverholders, service companies, market associations, and other industry stakeholders.
- Connecting market participants with the company’s initiatives, such as the company’s Lab, the company’s Broker Academy, and opportunities for new market entrants.
- Working with senior colleagues to develop KPIs, analyze market activity and transform data into valuable commercial insight.
- Engaging regularly with retail and wholesale brokers to deepen understanding of the company.
- Bringing regional market intelligence back to the company to inform colleagues of emerging opportunities, challenges, and trends.
- Developing campaigns, events, conferences, and thought leadership in collaboration with colleagues across the region and in London.
- Supporting market education, including organizing the company’s bootcamps in Saudi Arabia and the DIFC.
- Representing the company externally and participating actively in relevant industry forums.
While this role does not involve direct reports, you will have significant influence across the insurance market, the regional network, and colleagues throughout the company.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for candidates who can make a significant impact. You will bring:
- Extensive underwriting, broking, or related insurance market experience.
- Strong commercial understanding and the capability to identify where market opportunities can generate value.
- Knowledge of the Middle East and Turkey insurance markets, or proof of your ability to adapt successfully to different markets and cultures.
- Advanced relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently.
- The ability to analyze information, solve problems, and translate insight into actionable results.
- Proficiency in clear and confident written and verbal English.
- Familiarity with the DIFC reinsurance market is valuable.
- An understanding of the company’s market, Arabic language skills, and a CII or equivalent professional qualification are advantageous, though not essential.
