About the Role
This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the onshore and offshore oil and gas/petrochemical industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality assurance and quality control standards through meticulous inspection and verification of various activities including welding, process piping, mechanical equipment, painting, coating, wrapping, hydro testing, and advanced NDT methods. Knowledge of vendor and manufacturer's quality systems, as well as the ability to communicate technical information effectively, is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the requirements of Vendor / Manufacturer’s Quality System requirements.
  • Review and verify Manufacturer / Vendor documents as per Purchase Orders and Material Specifications in accordance with relevant codes and project specifications.
  • Conduct Material Receiving Inspection for all permanent Project Material received from the EPC Contractor.
  • Witness, verify, and endorse Procedure and Welders qualifications.
  • Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Review and approve material certificates.
  • Monitor, inspect, and approve all welding processes, including welding procedures and NDT works.
  • Oversee, review, and approve all Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) works.
  • Review all radiographs and NDT reports.
  • Sign off on weld and NDT logs.
  • Inspect pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pressurized piping, and structural works during fabrication.
  • Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic testing.
  • Conduct inspections of surface preparation, painting, and insulation.
  • Ensure good understanding of Material Control and Material Preservation and Storage procedures.
  • Familiarize with international codes such as ASME/ANSI, API, AWS, BP, BS, ISO codes, ISO EN 1024, etc.
  • Raise Non-conformance reports and verify corrective and preventive actions on all project materials during receiving inspections.
  • Prepare concise weekly and monthly inspection reports.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Welding, or Metallurgical Engineering. CSWIP 3.2 or AWS-Sr, CWI or ERS welding inspection and PCN level II qualification is desirable; BGAS Level 2 or NACE Level 1 certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in relevant fields, particularly in third-party inspection and verification activities.
  • Strong proficiency in spoken and written English, including technical report writing and QA/QC documentation.
  • Proven experience in liaising with EPC Contractors.
  • Competent with various codes such as ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO, and BS.
  • Computer literate.
