We are seeking an experienced Senior Network & Security Engineer to design, implement, and safeguard the enterprise network and security infrastructure of a UAE government entity. The role combines deep networking expertise with hands-on cybersecurity engineering, ensuring the availability, resilience, and confidentiality of mission-critical government services while maintaining compliance with UAE Information Assurance standards and applicable regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage enterprise network infrastructure across data-center and campus environments, including routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and load balancing.
  • Administer and harden perimeter and internal security controls, including next-generation firewalls, IPS/IDS, WAF, secure web gateways, and NAC.
  • Implement and maintain Zero Trust network architecture, micro-segmentation, and secure remote-access solutions such as IPSec / SSL VPN.
  • Monitor, triage, and investigate security events; support incident response and coordinate remediation with the SOC using SIEM and related tooling.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE Information Assurance Standards (NESA / SIA IAS), ISO.

Required Technical Skills Networking:

  • Enterprise routing & switching — Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba.
  • Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, and VRF.
  • Wireless LAN — Cisco / Aruba controllers.
  • SD-WAN — Cisco Viptela, Fortinet, or VMware VeloCloud.
  • Load balancing/application delivery — F5 BIG-IP or Citrix ADC.
  • Core services — DNS, DHCP, and IPAM using Infoblox or equivalent.

Security:

  • Next-generation firewalls — Palo Alto, Fortinet FortiGate, Check Point, or Cisco Firepower.
  • Experience with IPS/IDS, WAF, proxy/web filtering, and email security.
  • Network Access Control — Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass.
  • SIEM — Splunk, IBM QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR).
  • Privileged Access Management — CyberArk or BeyondTrust.
  • Vulnerability management — Nessus or Qualys.

Governance & Compliance:

  • Working knowledge of UAE IA Standards (NESA / SIA).
  • Understanding of ISO 27001 / 27002 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Familiarity with UAE government security frameworks such as Dubai ISR and ADHICS is an advantage.

Certifications Required: At least one of the following:

  • CCNP or CCIE — Enterprise or Security.
  • Palo Alto PCNSE or Fortinet NSE 4 and above.

Preferred:

  • CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering — Computer, Electronics & Communication, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in network and security engineering, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Prior experience supporting UAE government or large-enterprise environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause-analysis skills.
  • Excellent technical documentation and stakeholder communication abilities.
  • Ability to work on-site, coordinate across cross-functional teams, and operate under change-controlled processes.
  • Arabic language proficiency is an advantage given the government context.
