Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect network topologies that support the company's global connectivity requirements.
- Develop and defend high-level design documents for network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to influence technology roadmaps.
- Construct, test, and validate network solutions that anticipate future technological needs.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for network operations teams.
As a Network Development Engineer at the company, your core job responsibility is to design network topologies, architectures, and services that solve for many requirements. Our engineers contribute materially to each team’s roadmap and constantly help us determine what’s most important. Together with your leadership team, you will decide on the projects that best support your mission. You will have the resources and time necessary to understand, scope, and deliver these solutions, predicting and solving for problems that have not yet occurred.

About the Team
This opportunity sits within our Border Network organization, where the team is responsible for designing the networks connecting the company directly to the outside world (including the Internet, peers, and external customers). Engineers in this organization define routing policy, design and implement Traffic Engineering solutions, as well as architect the hardware platforms and network design to support internal and external connectivity. Engineers on this team make day-to-day and strategic decisions that carry a huge amount of responsibility and impact.
