Senior Network Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Specialist with strong expertise in network infrastructure and VoIP technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and reliable network systems while ensuring high availability and optimal performance across the organization’s communication platforms. This role requires a proactive professional who can manage complex network environments and lead VoIP implementations end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Infrastructure & Operations:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN networks across multiple locations.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Ensure network security, performance optimization, and scalability to support business needs.
  • Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or equivalent.
  • Manage IP addressing, VLAN configuration, and QoS policies.
  • Collaborate with system administrators and application teams to ensure seamless network connectivity.

• VoIP Implementation & Support:

  • Design, implement, and manage VoIP solutions including call routing, SIP trunking, and call center integration.
  • Administer and troubleshoot IP Telephony systems (e.g., Cisco Call Manager, Avaya, Asterisk, or Microsoft Teams Voice).
  • Ensure QoS and latency optimization for voice and video traffic.
  • Perform upgrades, patch management, and capacity planning for VoIP systems.

• Security & Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems.
  • Conduct regular network audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with internal IT security policies and external standards.

• Documentation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, configurations, and change logs.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance network efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior network engineers.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise-level networking and VoIP administration.
• Proven experience in routing and switching technologies (Cisco, Juniper, HP, etc.).
• Strong experience in VoIP systems implementation and maintenance.
• In-depth knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, etc.) is an added advantage.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher.
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
• Certified VoIP Professional / SIP Specialist certification.
• ITIL Foundation Certification (advantageous).
